This recipe was done for a video post on Instagram and YouTube demonstrating how to cook frozen chicken wings in the air fryer without thawing the wings for hours before.
I combined a fantastic lemon pepper rub along with a sweet rub of asian spices and then finished it off with my homemade wing sauce which is listed out in this receipe.

  1. MAKE UJB's WING SAUCE

  1. On medium heat, melt butter in small 1 quart saucepan.

  1. Add in syrup and hot sauce and stir well until combined.

  1. Add in honey and stir well and then place entire pot in freezer for 5 minutes to let it thicken.

  1. AIR FRY WINGS

  1. Pre-heat air fryer 400ºF for 5 minutes (my Cosori Air Fryer 12-1 has a pre-heat setting).

  1. Place frozen chicken wings in basket and air fry at 400ºF for 10 minutes.

  1. Remove the wings which will be wet and place in bowl.

  1. Season wings with the dry rubs and coat well.

  1. Place wings back into air fryer at 400ªF for 10 minutes (turning wings at 5 minutes).

  1. Repeat process until wings are crispy and look like they have been on a grill with a slight char.

  1. Wings shoud be at least 165, but 185-190 is just fine. I use my Thermapen ONE instant read thermometer from ThermoWorks ) (https://thermoworks.com/thermapen-one/?tw=ukulelejaybbq).

  1. Once wings are crispy, remove and place in bowl.

  1. Add sauce and toss wings.

  1. Enjoy!

Note

NOTE: You can order all the rubs, and syrup if you want to recreate this exactly, or you can "wing it" and just do your own rubs and maple syrup but it won't be exactly the same.

Great with a sour beer, or pale ale but can also be served with a nice Pino Noir for your wine drinkers
